This was the second consecutive year that ITSector, in partnership with the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation and the other companies based at POP, has organised this social initiative. In 2023, we managed to collect around 26 litres of blood, helping to save more than 170 patients in Portugal. This year, the action had a higher number of donors and exceeded initial expectations.
"Giving blood is a simple gesture that helps save many lives. We all know that the daily need for blood is increasing, especially among the most deprived blood groups. We are not indifferent to the surrounding community, and we wanted to help raise awareness of this problem by encouraging those who work at POP to be part of the solution. We're very grateful for the high number of donors available, which exceeded our expectations and numbers achieved in the previous edition," says Pedro Santos Ferreira, Employer Branding Specialist of ITSector.
This initiative took place between June 5 to 13, and was attended by around 100 professionals from Concentrix, PwC, eBankIT and Sword Health who operate in this northern business centre.
