ITSector team represents Portugal in the international final of Global Management competition

ITSector is supporting the Portuguese team competing in the Global Management Challenge (GMC) 2022 International Final, held in Luanda, Angola on September 25, 26, and 27.

 

The Global Management Challenge is one of the most important strategy and management competitions in the world, featuring competitors from several nations who must win their national competition in order to advance to the worldwide final. In 2022, the winning GMC team in Portugal was IT Sector/Lederulite, made up of five mechanical engineering students.

 

The competition comprises of an interactive business simulation in which each team manages a company to obtain the best investment performance for their company in the market in which it operates. Involvement in this competition allows participants to develop and consolidate skills in the analysis of economic/financial indicators, the strategic vision of a company, the interaction between the different functional areas, and the impact that their decisions can have on an organisation, considering the constraints of the market in which they compete and highest customer and shareholder satisfaction.

 

For Cai Yiwei, leader of the IT Sector/Lederulite team: "Over the last few months we've been working hard to prepare for GMC International and we couldn't be more excited about this opportunity to represent Portugal and compete side by side with the best teams from around the world. Once again, we will be challenging our ability to think strategically outside the box, but I believe that with dedication, commitment, and team spirit we will win another trophy not only for our country but also for ITSector!"

A team sponsored by ITSector was also victorious in the global GMC competition in 2020, and this year we are hoping to bring home the trophy once again.
